The project formed a brief for a future exhibition,
in order for the board of trustees
to appreciate in depth the need
as well as the value
for such a museum to come about.
The permanent exhibition proposed here,
is to be hosted in the spacious foyer
of the institute’ s amphitheatre,
in order to be accessible to a large number of visitors.
Two main chapters cover all major topis about Pasteur
and the global network of his institutes,
with emphasis given, as expected, to the hellenic one.
Making the most of the collection’s rare artefacts
and using contemporary digital products,
the museum aims to create a leading example
in a potential network of health related museums in Athens.
Together with the exhibition, the library is redesigned,
turning into a mediatheque, with digitised archival material.
Also, the cafeteria is refurbished and
the creation of a small museum shop is proposed.
